Turf Reinforcement Mesh
Turf Reinforcement Mesh is a recycled plastic mesh that reinforces grass that is prone to getting worn, becoming muddy or rutted by car wheels or excessive pedestrian walking. The plastic mesh is fixed onto the grass using metal pins. Within just a few weeks after installation, the grass should have grown through the plastic mesh apertures, hiding it from view. Turf reinforcement mesh works by creating a strong interlock between the plastic mesh filaments and the grass roots which intertwine into each other.

Plastic turf reinforcement mesh works by creating a strong interlock between the plastic mesh filaments and the grass roots which intertwine into each other. This process gives extra support to the grass roots, and although car wheels might damage the sward, the roots are protected. The mesh works by spreading loads laterally, rather like a snow boots that spreads weight over a larger area. This helps to limit rutting.
Typical turf reinforcement uses:
- Overflow grass car parks
- Event car parking areas
- Wedding and festival parking
- Grass paths prone to being worn out by excessive walking
- Lawns where dogs cause grass wear
